We Tried The Delightful New Italian Restaurant In Johnston, Rhode Island

the NEW Grandma (cheese) Pizza at Bar’Lino in Johnston, RI Yesterday Afternoon

I was so jealous when a bunch of my family, friends, and various online acquaintances started checking in from the NEW Bar’Lino Pizzeria e Ristorante on Atwood Avenue in Johnston (RI).

That being said, Tom and I had been really wanting to go and were so happy to discover that in addition to dinner hours, they are open for lunch every single day.

Yesterday was the day for us: we FINALLY motored over for a few salads, some calamari, and drum roll please, a pizza to share (this is indeed tricky as we both LIVE for pizza pies and relationship drama could rear its head if we both reach for that last piece at the same time).

The second we pulled up to the restaurant, we were mesmerized by the polished exterior which was giving a very summer-in-Italy vibe! (Keep scrolling to see my photo of some of the outside seating and lighting. It’s quite stylish and smart looking.)

Once we stepped inside, we realized that the inside was even prettier. Think multiple murals in subtle color palettes (don’t leave without taking a photo in front of the Sophia Loren one) that complement the Mediterranean inspired aesthetic, comfy booths (table seating too), a great looking bar, and more.

We started with two of their thoughtfully prepared salads. Tom got their Cesare while I opted for the Tre Colore.

Then it was on to the CALAMARI which was incredibly flavorful.

We split their new GRANDMA PIE (the cheese…they also have a pepperoni and another with pink vodka sauce and sausage), which was just like the ones both of our Italian nonnas used to make.

As a matter of fact, Tom was talking about it all night. Also, there were no leftovers, another huge compliment.

Highly recommend to all my fellow pizza fans out there.

Whether you’re in search of a new spot for lunch with your significant other or pizza night with your friends, THIS is it.

Why not channel your inner Sophia (Loren) and get all gussied up?

Thank you so much to everyone at Bar’LIno: we’re SUPER fans now and will be back.
