A Sweet Hot Chocolate Shop In South Kingstown, Rhode Island

the other day in Wakefield

Their chocolate bars are amazing but have you tried their European style hot chocolate yet?

Gansett Craft Chocolate just moved into a shop on Robinson Street (just up the road from Purslane…before that they were popping up at farmers markets and such) in Wakefield (a village within the town of SK) and in addition to their delectable chocolates (a few I want to shoutout here…the Rhode Island Coffee Milk, the Lil Rhody Sea Salt and the Dark Chocolate), they have started serving this European style hot chocolate that frankly we’ve all been missingout on in our past winters here.

Especially come February when there’s a snow storm every other day and most of us have taken bundling up to a whole other art form.

The chocolate is of course made fresh daily in house. I mean, that’s a given. The detail that really sets them apart is how the marshmallow and the whipped cream toppings are both also made fresh daily at the shop.

No whipped cream out of a can (Meg Ryan’s Sally Albright would approve) or fluff out of a jar for them.

I tried one last Friday and it was the best treat on a freezing cold (the wind, oy) Feb afternoon.

Also you can sample any of the choc bar flavors when you go (sweet!) and they even have a chocolate TEA that I bought for my husband .

Gansett Craft Chocolate is serving hc this winter Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 12noon to 5pm and on Sundays from 12 to 4pm.

Find them at 227 Robinson Street in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
