Pinkies Up For This Adorable Tea Room In North Kingtown, Rhode Island

last week at Sweet Marie’s new home on Main Street in Wickford (RI)

A Newly Relocated Tea Room

Thrilled to have — FINALLY— had afternoon tea at the brand new location of Sweet Marie’s Tea on Main Street in Wickford (right next to Serendipity, they were formerly in the red cottage behind Wickford Gourmet).

Tea-rrific times ahead: They have done an outstanding job of turning the space (formerly a clothing store) into a delightfully cozy and vintage-y tea room, complete with shabby chic furnishings, printed wallpaper, antique tea sets, a welcoming waiting area, and more.

I’m even surprising myself a bit when I say that you won’t miss the cottage. Yes, it’s that great at their new digs on Main Street.

Also you’ll find pictures of the owner’s grandmother Marie for whom the tea room is named throughout.

Go for the bottomless pots of tea served in a variety of different tp’s (no two are alike) and stay for the traditional three tier tray of savory and sweet bites (from finger sandwiches and scones to bonbons and macarons, they have something for every taste and mood…we actually ordered the vegetarian tray…let them know about any dietary restrictions when making your reservation) and the photo opps in this adorable tea house.

It’s like somewhere out of a 90’s rom com starring Meg Ryan. I could totally see Kathleen Kelly (Meg’s character from “You’ve Got Mail”) having tea there with Birdie and Christina.

You simply must book a sitting! They fill up fast, and as of right now, they don’t take walk-ins (am reminding you because I don’t want you to be disappointed).

Find Sweet Marie’s on 7 Main Street in Wickford Village (North Kingstown), Rhode Island.
