The Hot Chocolate Pop Up At This Newport Hotel Will Have You Planning An Afternoon With Your Fav Foodie
Today is a hot chocolate kind of day.
Even here in South Florida, where the temps this week have dipped into the 50’s and Floridians are suddenly all decked out in their wintertime best. (Yes, if you can believe it, this means coats, hats, scarves, and boots.)
One thing I’m looking forward to in a big way when I get back to Rhode Island in a few days is the Hot Chocolate Pop-Up Bar, happening now until March 31st from noon to 5pm at The Chanler in Newport.
If you’ve never been (say what?!?!?), or you’re looking for an excuse to get back to this enchanting and elegant historic-manse-turned-hotel that overlooks the world famous Cliff Walk (Note to all the runners who have almost collided with me on that path, it’s called the Cliff WALK.), this incredibly dreamy and indulgent pop-up would be the time.

Yes, in addition to being able to choose from Milk, Dark, or Peruvian Magic Chocolate (FYI: Peru has become known for producing some of the best chocolate in the whole wide world.), I’m happy to say that for a fairly small fee, you can have your order made with non-dairy milk. Don’t know about you, but these days, I am ramping down the cow’s milk and really working on substituting in the nut or oat varieties whenever and wherever I get the chance.
And don’t even get me started about what I’ll call the Instagram-related possibilities with this event. I mean, as you can see from the photo above, the end result of their handiwork just screams (We all scream for…hot choc!) IG Stories or FB personal page post.
So, charge your smart phone (raise your hand if you have an I-Phone XS and the keyboard freezes all the freakin’ time), clear an upcoming afternoon on your calendar, and motor on over to one of NPT’s most tasteful yet accessible destinations.
