You Can Adopt An Olive Tree In Italy And Gift Your Fave RI Foodie
This Massachusetts based company, founded by three cousins (hence the TRE in the name TRE Olive), has not only made some of the finest olive oil in Italy available for purchase here in states, but they have also come up with a terrific way to grab a bit of that Mediterranean magic for yourself or a loved one.
Tre Olive sent me a gift box a few weeks ago and the oil was so incredible that I simply had to do a little digging online to find out more about these emerging importers.
Sure, the gift boxes are sensational options for Holiday 2021, but if you really want to take things to the next level for the cook, food lover or food blogger in your life, why not lease (or as they say, adopt) an olive tree from their family grove over in Southern Italy?
The fam started back in 1934, launching their very first olive mill in the Calabria region.
And everything takes place on Italian soil, from the growing and the picking to pressing and pouring.
I mean, you just can’t get more authentic than that, aside from perhaps hopping an Alitalia flight to Lamezia Terme International Airport, Aeroporto della Stretto or Aeroporto Sant’ Anna (the three major airports in that part of “The Boot”).
Let the foodie or person who is close to impossible to buy for (we all have at least one in our orbits) in your life know YOU SEE THEM with an Express Adoption (1 box containing three 500ml tins of their extra virgin oil), the Full (2 deliveries), or a Premium (3 deliveries) level set-up.
The giftee also gets a Welcome Pack, complete with photos, a certificate and letter outlining the family’s — and the oil’s — history in Calabria.
Also, helloooo, bragging rights both online and irl!
For complete details, do go to @TreOlive on Instagram and also peruse their lovely site.
It’s a truly unique culinary experience for anyone who appreciates Italian made and family tradition.
