The Cheesy Rolls At This Pawtucket Bakery Will Have You Planning Your Next Foodie Adventure

Oprah isn't the only one who can't live without bread.

I can't either, which is why when someone I used to know tipped me off about the outrageously good cheesy rolls (have seen the name spelled as both pan de bonos and pandebonos) at this bakery in Pawtucket, I knew I had to go.

And soon.

Spoiler alert, they were (and are) as scrumptious as that person described! They are melt in your mouth phenomenal and like nothing else I can think of.

Other items on the menu their regulars gush about include their cafe con leche (coffee with milk), bunelos (round, fried bread), empanadas, tres leche (frosted sponge cake) and their flan.

Precisely why I’m out here saying that next time you’re in the vicinity of 173 Lonsdale (frankly even if you're not, you’ll want to go out of your way) you must visit Caprichos Antioquenos, a 2nd generation, family run Colombian bakery and restaurant that’s been in biz for over 25 years.

After stuffing my face with at least 5 or 6 pan de bonos (also known as chipa or pan de yuca), my very first time there, I found out that ideally you’re supposed to enjoy them with hot chocolate, either as a chaser or for dipping.

So, learn from my mistake and (wink, wink) plan accordingly.

As always, if you end up picking up a nosh or three at Caprichos in the future, please let them know you found out about them here on PattyJ.com.
