Make A Watch A Sunset Date For Dinner At This Delightful Wickford Restaurant

EATS & DRINKS IN THE WICK

You can sit on the rustic deck that overlooks Wickford Harbor or on the back lawn where there are views of a pond. (Stacey Doyle & I did photos on that pond in 2018. A friend who had a house there had also offered her rowboat at the time.)

One caveat before we go any further: Reservations are essential because the wait for a table on any given summer day can be lengthy.

Also, if you would prefer to sit on the patio, you most definitely want to book in advance.

Yesss, Tavern by the Sea (always tempted to write Tavern On The Green where I’ve never actually eaten but have seen in plenty of movies, so I feel as though I have, lol) is a completely delightful spot for casual eats and drinks.

If you’re a big seafood fan, hold on to your hat! If not, no worries because there’s something for every eater and mood on their sizeable menu.

When we were there, we were truly excited — like a couple of kids — to see Del’s Lemonade on the menu.

We’ve also devoured clam cakes (I mean, you have to order them at least once during the summer in Rhode Island), sweet potato fries, veggie burgers, salads, and sandwiches there .

They are open thru October (they close for the season from November until March), but you’ll want to get there for an open air meal whilst the weather’s still nice.

And, if you can score a table in time to watch the sunset over the water with your favorite person or people, you are golden.

Tavern By The Sea is located at 16 West Main Street in Wickford Village.
