The Stylish Speakeasy In Warwick For Your Next Night Out With Friends
An old friend — we met at the tail end of middle school back when I thought jelly shoes with denim skirts were the height of fashion — tipped me off about the Jefferson in Warwick and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Who says all the hep speakeasies are in Providence?
Situated on Kilvert Street, this wonderful watering hole is winning over natives like my friend M. (who was on a date nite with her husband the other evening) and visitors to Lil Rhody (it’s not far from the airport) alike with their jazz soundtrack, cozy atmosphere, and incredible craft cocktails.
Speaking of which, the current owner also gets high marks not only for being personable but also for his skills behind the bar.
Yes, he’s most likely the one mixing up your drink Wednesdays thru Saturdays from 5pm to 12am.
They also have terrific bar food: My friend M. adored the veggie spring rolls she ordered. (And yours truly is thrilled to hear that there are small plates that are meat-less.)
In addition, I know you don’t pick a lounge based on their site, BUT the Jefferson’s is a vibe.
Their home page (“Hospitality created by the people for the people…”) is very Thomas Jefferson & the Founding Fathers meets East Village after hours joint (one at 113 St Marks Place comes to mind) with just a dash of 1990’s Favreau and Vaughn (when they were still doing INDIE MOVIES) thrown in for good measure.
Get there before everyone you know, and every blogger in the area, starts checking in.
Find the Jefferson Speakeasy at 137 Kilvert Street in Warwick, Rhode Island.
As always, if you motor over after reading THIS, please let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.
