The Rhode Island Store That's Like Somewhere In A Hallmark Christmas Movie

Last Week At Peter Pots

Over The River And Through The Woods

You can absolutely hop online and order some Peter Pots Pottery (we have their Grandfather Mugs for tea, coffee and such, their mugs are sturdy must haves and I highly recommend them as gifts for yourself or your loved ones this season) via their site, but it’s a lot merrier to motor over to their rustic, cabin-like space that’s tucked away in the woods of West Kingston.

There’s even a babbling brook.

It’s like something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie wherein the lead character leaves her big city life to run her family’s business in the country and well, you can guess the rest…

Established in Providence in 1948 by two Rhode Island School of Design grads who later relocated to WK, Peter Pots has serious fans in Rhode Island and beyond. (Founder Oliver Watson Greene III passed away in 2016 at the age of 89. The biz continues to be run by his son.)

People collect — and obsess over — their crafted by hand in Lil Rhody stoneware.

Over the years, their creations have also been exhibited at both RISD AND MOMA.

In addition to their much loved stoneware, Peter Pots has a terrific selection of old time-y toys and gadgets that you just don’t see anywhere anymore, antiques, home goods, and their new-ish (as of last yr) holiday ornaments made from Quahog shells.

I mean, someone really needs to send some to Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy.

Find Peter Pots Pottery at 494 Glen Rock Road in West Kingston, RI and on IG @PeterPotsPottery.

As always, if you make a trip over after reading this, please do let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.
