A Classic Diner In Providence With Some Of The Best Pancakes Around

the other day in PVD 🍴 🥞 ☕️ 🍳

We finally stopped by Seaplane Diner on Allen’s Avenue in Providence last week and now I know why it’s always busy.

Before you go just know that there is a wait for a table (there is counter seating as well) but in my humble opinion it is indeed worth the wait.

Their pancakes are some of the best I’ve eaten. Slightly crispy and entirely delicious. Full of flavor. No need to douse them in syrup because a little butter and you’re golden. I also recommend skipping the powdered sugar (not necessary, and why is it even a thing?)

The hubs ordered one of their egg breakfasts and they use red bliss potatoes. I mean, to me those RED potatoes are a big green flag. In other words, go, go, GO!

Mentioned this to our waitress and she confirmed what I was thinking — that they use super fresh ingredients, local whenever possible.

Also, you never know who you’ll see there. It’s a real hub in the capital city where blue (hands on work) , white (office), yellow (creatives and tech), and red (govt or civil service) collars — not to mentions families, teens — all go for coffee, casual breakfast, and no frills lunch.

More good news? They’re open 7 days, M-F from 5am to 3pm, Saturdays 5am to 2pm, and Sundays 7am to 1pm.
